It says that Miss Maudie hated her house that is why she spends the majority of her time outside gardening. Additionally, this portrays that she prefers to be active over not active, this could be extended to the fact that her husband is dead.

A social contract is what others would expect of you. However, if a social contract was to be broken then their would be consequences. Even though these are unspoken rules, there would be actual consequences of mostly humiliation. In How To Kill A Mockingbird, the Radleys had already broken the social contract as a whole. It’s almost a must that every family goes to church and by not going they had broken it.
